I thought I understood what it was to be authentic - genuine, honest, true to me. But in the past few weeks, I have been incredibly challenged about what it means to be your ‘authentic self’ and how hard it can be to live your truth.
It takes courage to be authentic. It’s not always as easy as we like to believe. More often than not, it requires you to be uncomfortably open and vulnerable with other people about how you feel and what’s truly going on in your heart. You need to be willing to step up and face your fears. To stop avoiding them.
